Paleolithic Divine Figurines
Eduard Alan Bulut
Paleolithic Divine Figurines is a small-scale ceramic collection, composed of 45 pieces. The designs are different in size, varying from 4cm to 51cm. While some of the designs are made up of a single piece, some of them are of two or three separate pieces. All objects bear their own natural cream color. The design and production started in early 2017 and ended in August 2017. No complicated equipment was used during the production. Rather, very primitive and basic tools were used. The figurines do not refer to any specific religion or cult from modern times. Specifically, they refer to divine figures from prehistoric times in general. The major source of inspiration has been the archaeological artifacts with a unique look from Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and Europe. None of the artworks in this collection is a direct copy of an art object or archaeological finding. Even though they may echo back to old figurines and idols from above-given geographical regions, they are authentic and original artworks with copyright.
