After All is the continuing story of the Samms family; who are character's created in Beyond All Dreams, another novel by the author. It tells the story of the children from this family who are growing in an atmosphere of arrogance, avarice, angered jealousies, and unfortunate deaths. The sustaining element that keeps them coming together and overcoming the many obstacles placed in their way, is their love of family, instilled long ago by their grandparents. Included in the growth of these children are the friends and extended family who become participants in their struggles, and who find themselves intertwined in their lives, loves and losses. There are laughable moments during the telling of each ones personal encounters with growing up and stepping into adult situations, as well as tearful realizations describing some of their hardships. The balance that the head of the family, who is also the father to three of the children, works on trying to keep, is tilted when his vulnerability to another woman is found out and a crisis fills their lives. This could be any family you know or even your own. The story has moments so vivid that you feel yourself being drawn in as a part of what is taking place.
