Adam Welter slowly starts to discover that everyone he gets close to ends up dying. He closes himself off from the world in order to prevent any more casualties, but can't help but spend his time ruminating about his past friendships. During his recollections, he attempts to find reasoning behind all his turmoil, and discovers that there may be some sort of divine purpose for everything that has happened. But was it worth the lives spent?
