He will accept a calmer family, but you can't forget the long Sunday walk, or else he'll be miserable. The Brittany spaniel is very sociable, he will adapt to every situation, but do not forget that re prefers big spaces. Of course, he will accept the confinement of an apartment and he will remain affectionate and happy, but he will be missing something, and you will sometimes see it in his eyes. Therefore, if you live in an apartment or in a house without a garden, you have to walk him out frequently. The Brittany spaniel can stop extremely quickly. He is the king of woodcock hunting. This is also a great retrieving and flushing dog. Genetically speaking, this is an athlete dog; he is naturally disposed to hunting. Do not let him loose in the countryside - unless you are a hunter, obviously - and use a long handle harness. He has excellent flair, you can work on this innate quality. Do not yell at him: he is very emotional. You have to educate him gently and firmly. His education is very easy because he loves flattery. He has a flaw that you will need to address quickly: he doesn't tolerate solitude and can be destructive in case of prolonged absences. If you scold him when you get home, he will develop susceptibility. You have to teach him to stay alone progressively since a young age to spare him long moments of anxiety.
