This book shares 45 stories from the St. Joseph's Rebuild Center, a day shelter serving persons experiencing homelessness in downtown New Orleans. People facing extraordinarily difficult challenges are welcomed and shown true care and concern. It is a place where people can come together and experience the love of God no matter their history or situation. The stories tell of special encounters where fear of the stranger is overcome and the "other" becomes "one another" and the dignity and sanctity of each human life is co-respected and celebrated.
