In the near future, the first practical faster-than-light spacecraft is developed. Soon after, USS Resolute is sent into her first voyage into interstellar space. Aboard the superluminal research vessel, Captain Rick Corbett and his first officer, a fully sentient Gen-V AI known as Alice, face challenges and mysteries previously unknown to man.
