On the surface Michael Miller seems to have it all: fame, fortune, a beautiful girlfriend, a group of close friends and happiness. But if you dig a little deeper things are not as rosy as they look and in his family history lies a tragic secret. Between dealing with his overly jealous girlfriend and his cousin's abusive boyfriend Michael already has a lot on his plate. But it's only after a night out when things really start to go wrong that he begins to feel that his life is spiralling out of control. Accused of a crime he did not commit, with the police only interested in Michael's guilt he gets scared. But it's only after his girlfriend is kidnapped that he starts to ask questions. Then Michael himself disappears. He wants to get a happily ever after, but may end up losing the only woman he has ever truly loved. How far will he go when pushed to the brink and the odds are stacked against him? Can he get to the bottom of things before it's too late or will he end up as another victim of a miscarriage of justice or worse? The answers leave him reeling as the person conspiring to destroy him is somebody he never would have suspected in a million years.
