How can you tell if what a prophet says come from God or not? Great question and for the correct answer let's look at the Word of God. If the prophet speaks in the LORD 's name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the LORD did not give that message. Remember there are two kinds of prophets, True Prophets or False prophets. Deuteronomy 18:21 (GNT) "You may wonder how you can tell when a prophet's message does not come from the Lord.22 If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord and what he says does not come true, then it is not the Lord's message. That prophet has spoken on his own authority, and you are not to fear him.
