Sophie loves adventures and playing with her best friend Nick, but one day Mum and Dad tell her that they have to move to a new city. Sophie is upset and sad and seeks advice from her plush T-Rex Dino. With his help she navigates through her strong feelings of sadness and anxiety. A move is a very emotional experience for children: getting to grips with old familiarity and moving to new places can be frightening. This book aims to acknowledge the difficult emotions children are dealing with during a move, such as denial, grief or sadness as well as bodily sensations that come with big changes in early childhood. It also aims to allow parents to help their children to express their feelings and process the move together. The book is suitable for 3 to 5 year old children.
