It means 'Seek out who you really are and what are your strengths and weaknesses. To accomplish the mission I am giving you, you must know exactly what you are capable of.' 'Know Yourself' is inscribed on the Temple of Delphi's frontispiece. Socrates has taken over this saying. It reinforces this divine injunction. 'Know Yourself' has become a great philosophical truth. Man must seek his deep nature because it is indistinct. It is by knowing oneself, by searching in oneself, that man can find his way, his mission, and wisdom.
