Note From the Author: I found an article pointing to an incredible archeological finding of the first piece of writing. It was a letter in Mesopotamia written to a merchant in order to complain about how bad his product was. In old war movies, the soldier's last dying wish is that his surviving buddy gets a letter to his wife. I had a pen pal growing up who lived in Texas. We met after I evacuated from my home for Hurricane Katrina. We wrote letters back and forth for a whole 2 years as kids We would send post cards, or post images on social media as a letter to our friends. A "wish you were here" if you will. Writing letters is in our DNA. It's who we are as a species. We love writing to loved ones, and also to those that make our skin crawl... just look at a comment sections on social media. We type tiny all-cap letters over silly things all of the time. This book is a letter. Who it is to is for you to decide. That's the beauty of poetry. I have my own interpretation of what is written (as the author it is my job to know the objective truth) but if you do not know me, you are left with wonder. So, embrace the wonder. And write letters of life, love, and reflection, to the people you know and care about... or used to. This letter is a journey: Romance, Reflection, Regret, and Acceptance are all found within the binding. Enjoy the journey. And wherever you are, embrace it, and push on. There are no more letters after this. Or maybe there will be. Only Time will tell...
