Gavin made a promise to me, which was that we were going to marry when he was back. And he did come back, but he was not the same man anymore. His life was different from over 10 years ago, and that fire he had for me... it was still there, but it was not as intense. I kept my hopes up, thinking that there was still a chance for us to work.
