Bing Powell has worked just about every shady money-making angle imaginable in 1920's America: sideshows, bogus health tonics, gambling. Now he manages Bob Lawson, a washed-up boxer. Together they travel the country, collecting pay to lose fights. But when a star-struck young boy bets an orphanage's entire Christmas fund on Bob to win his next match, Bing will be forced to confront his own selfishness and decide just how important Bob's friendship is. Teaming up with Dorothy, an orphanage worker and the niece of one of the Roaring Twenties' most notorious figures, they only have a few frantic days in which to save Christmas.
