What would you do if you were faced with one of the largest challenges of your life? How would your family respond and what would you want your path to be? Irwin County High head football coach Buddy Nobles was faced with a diagnosis and a path that led only one way- to be there with his family, for his family, and for them to face the challenge as one. The challenge led them down a path that would lead to the ultimate victory on the field and the ultimate prize off the field. An entire community and extended family would walk the path together with a family and they would all learn and remember what it takes to be "Nobles Strong." Jon Nelson is an award-winning television journalist for thirty years based in Atlanta. He graduated from Lakeside High School in Atlanta and Florida State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science. He has also covered high school athletics for Georgia Public Broadcasting for twenty-six seasons as a host and correspondent for its high school coverage. He is the author of five books about high school and college football in the southeast. He lives in suburban Atlanta with his far-more-pretty wife, Patty, and his furry child - a Pekingese named Trooper.
