Call of the Mandrake F R Jameson

What terrible secrets are the town's women hiding?

Beddnic, on the South Wales coast, has shut itself off from the outside world. Days after a number of its men were reported missing, the road in was closed and all communications ceased. No strangers are welcome there anymore.

Now, two agents - Ludo and Garris - are venturing across the water, anxious to know what's going on and desperate to help. And no amount of threats or horrors will make them turn back. The awful curse which has befallen this town is about to be revealed, and the dead shall walk...

But in this cruel place by the sea, will these two men really be able to help?

A brand new British horror tale perfect for all fans of Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft, James Herbert and the adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

What are Ghostly Shadows?

They are that strange flicker you glimpse from the corner of your eye; that sound you're certain you hear in the dark of night in an empty house; they're the feeling of dread which races up and overwhelms you completely. Ghostly Shadows are all that's scary, disturbing, creepy and unsettling. Every fear and anxiety bound together, nebulous in form, but completely inescapable.

For me, Ghostly Shadows are the connective tissue for all my writing. Every one of my novels, novellas and short stories is joined together through these Ghostly Shadows. There are a thousand such tales lurking in my consciousness, and I intend to write them all.

Call of the Mandrake is the fourth of the Ghostly Shadows novellas. A brand new horror anthology series. The first three Ghostly Shadows novellas: Death at the Seaside, Certain Danger, Won't You Come Save Me are for sale now. While the first five Ghostly Shadows Shorts: Foliage, The Strange Fate of Lord Bruton, The Widow Ravens, Algernon Swafford - Private Investigator and Sacrifice at St. Nick's are also available.
