With a life full of hidden secrets, Denise Taylor was just a young lady trying to find her purpose in life. She was raised by her grandmother because her parents were young and unstable to even take care of her. Denise, on the other hand, decided not to allow what she have been through as a child hinder her faith. She and her friend Lisa Williams grew up together with dreams, goals, and expectations in life. They both grew up in Savannah, Georgia, and are attending college to pursue their career goals.

No one, including Lisa, knows about Denise's past, and she wanted to keep it that way. It seems as if Denise herself is not able to hide from it. She begins to see a repetitive cycle in her life when she meets a young, handsome, and successful man by the name of Eric Wilson. Eric is eye-catching and has every female after him, but is not the good guy that he portrays to be. Denise runs into her ex-boyfriend Isaac Washington, who is a close friend of Eric, but they have no clue that they both are talking to the same girl. Denise knows Isaac is trying to pursue her by getting back with him, but she is catching feelings for Eric. Denise thought everything was going well in her life, even while going to church faithfully, praying and seeking advice from her pastor. Pastor Christina Jackson was the only person Denise felt she could go to at any time to talk because she also has been through a lot of trials, rejections, and persecutions in her life.

Denise needed someone she could talk to that can relate to the things she has been through in her life. While holding on to her beliefs and faith, Denise finds out the hard way how holding onto her past can hinder her from moving forward in her life and to walk in her purpose.
