This book supplements Third Position for the Violin, Book One (a shifting method that introduces the positions) with exercises and short pieces that focus on increasing proficiency and note-reading in third position.

This book focuses more on reading notes across strings in third position, while Third Position for the Violin focuses more on shifting into and out of third position.
