With Christmas just around the corner, she had already stirred up interest from the window-shoppers. Mothers and grandmothers stopped and smiled at the doll in the window, and little girls from well-to-do families dressed in coats and hats and mittens jumped up and down with delight when they saw the beautiful doll in the pink dress.
