Jennifer, in the shadow of hidden abuse, resists human friendship and the mere mention of God's love. Jennifer Hanson had married Lennard Brown to have a dad for Michael, then six. Now, after four years, her life is in danger. Len's abuse worsens. Then he moves her to the country, where she meets Sylvia and Larry Ford. Sylvia speaks of God's love and forgiveness, but Jen cannot 'hear' because of bad childhood experiences. Lennard has abandoned them. Michael becomes chronically ill. While he is being seen at Children's Hospital, Jenny takes a hotel room, unaware she is being stalked. Lennard had been angry before-hit her-but she had never before seen such depth of hatred controlling him. She fixed on his eyes, like a deer, helpless in car headlights. No. Oh, no... I'll be beaten... He is crazy with jealousy. I am going to die... Michael, my son, what will... Susan DeBeeson has come in contact with many "Jennifers" in the course of 33 years as a pastor's wife. She was born in Seattle, Wash. and grew up in that city and on a farm in Stanwood, Wash. She and husband, Max, raised 3 children and ministered in churches in the United States, Nepal, and Canada. Susan has written poetry, articles, short stories, and now her first novel. The passion to write Jennifer's Journey came out of working with hurting families and wanting to encourage anyone desiring to befriend and help them.
