Cuba in Pictures Francis Adel

This photo book shows the pictures of the places of interest and other major tourist attractions in Cienfuegos in Cienfuegos Province, and Trinidad and Guanayara National Park in Sancti Spiritus Province. Brief information and history of Cienfuegos and Trinidad, and some background information about Guanayara National Park, were also provided to help readers appreciate the context of the pictures. The pictures shown in this book were taken during my visit to Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Guanayara National Park in September 2006, some years before the recent thawing of relations between Cuba and USA. Hence, it is hoped that it would provide a good visual representation of the conditions of the tourist attractions and places of interest, at the time the pictures were taken. The pictures include that of notable places of interest in Cienfuegos namely; Parque Martí, Cienfuegos Cathedral, Cienfuegos Port, Tomás Terry Theatre, and Palacio del Valle among others. Pictures of Places in Trinidad showing the Plaza Mayor and the important palaces around it including Brunet Palace, San Fernando Convent, Casa de Ortiz and the Santísima Trinidad Cathedral were also shown in the book. Pictures of the Guanayara National Park in the Topes de Collantes Nature Reserve were also included, which among others shows the El Rocío waterfall, Poza del Venado natural pool, and the plants in the forest. The photo book is the fifth and final one in the series of five volumes which are: Cuba in Pictures: Havana; Cuba in Pictures: Santiago de Cuba; Cuba in Pictures: Camagüey; Cuba in Pictures: Viñales & Varadero; and Cuba in Pictures: Cienfuegos, Trinidad & Guanayara.
