Allan Quatermain, written by H. Rider Haggard, is the sequel novel to King Solomon's Mines. The book starts out with the death of Allan's son which leads to his desire to get back into the wild as he leads a group into the territory of the Maasai. H. Rider Haggard was a prominent English writer near the turn of the 20th century. Haggard was also involved in reforming agriculture throughout the British Empire. Today he is best known for influential adventure and lost world novels such as King Solomon's Mines and She: A History of Adventure.
