An Afterword section is added to tell "What happened to them." The first edition received the "2013 Clark Cox Award for Historical Fiction," given by the NC Society of Historians. The second edition received the "2018 John Esten Cooke for Fiction Award," given by The Military Order of the Stars and Bars.
