Once upon a time a wayfaring son came home to take care of his aging, lonely mother. Sounds sweet, doesn't it. But there are a couple of problems with this lovely idea... First, the mother isn't all that old, nor is she lonely. Second, the son's idea of taking care of his mother rather pivots on the point of what will get him where he wants to be and whether or not he gets there with everything he believes he deserves. In this twentieth Spencer Hardesty adventure, it's Spencer's mother Eleanor who brings him the case; the case of an inconsiderate child coming home to take over Eleanor's best friend Beth Olson's life. At first it's all suspicion and only suspicion and that makes it difficult for Spencer to proceed. He needs proof of any evildoing before he can act, so he sets out with a team of Beth's friends and his pals on the Chicago P. D. to get that proof. Will he get it in time and free this not so lonely not so aging mother from the clutches of a possibly dangerous situation? Or will An Inconsiderate Child get away with murder?
