Evolution of a Blawn Girl was a long time coming but couldn't have come at a better time than now. There is a resurgence of power and rebellion within the women of color community. It's as if our ancestors prayed over us and said one word "WOKE" and here we are finding ourselves through a world that derived from us but dismisses us so freely. The word Blawn was created from the word black and brown combined. I wrote this for girls and women who are of color that just need a word, a sense of empowerment, an affirmation, or a poem to get them through the day. My goal in creating the Evolution of a Blawn Girl was to evoke emotions that the Blawn experiences but may find hard to express. Various topics are hidden within my prose and poetry and I have pulled from my own personal narrative but I'm sure all Blawns can relate. So...for women of color who love deeply, fly high and dream with intent to change the world, this book is for you.
