Something is killing off all the vampires in the world, and I haven't seen another of my own kind in decades. Could I be the last vampire alive, and what is causing entire communities of vampires to vanish from the face of the Earth? After searching Asia, Russia, Europe and Africa, I'm on my way to the New World to see if any vampires still survive there when I catch the faintest rumor of strange killings somewhere in Italy. The victims' throats ripped out and every drop of blood drained from them--sound familiar? Could vampires still roam the streets, just waiting for me to find them? I have to travel there to find out. Just when I think all my dreams are about to come true, an ancient evil rears its ugly head. If it succeeds in wiping out the last remnant of our race, vampires will vanish from the Earth forever. Would that really be so bad? Either way, I'm caught up in a fight to the death against a foe more powerful than any vampire, a foe bent on destroying me and everything I hold dear. Can I overcome insurmountable odds before it's too late?
