Anchored by Purpose is an Autobiography of Janice Brooks, her life, struggles and triumphs. She tells her story because she wants others to know that what they see and know now, is not always what was. Many see the glory but they do not know her story.

The writer is a woman who defy odds and whose life epitomizes perseverance, persistence, faith and hope towards the fulfillment of her dreams.

She was born in the late nineteen sixties in deep rural St Elizabeth where her parents were farmers. Born to be the last of eight children; Janice was yet to meet immense difficulties along the way but never gave in to her fate. She pushed through the odds and has risen to heights that others only dream From the gutters of Tivoli Gardens to the factories of Kingston Freezone,

Janice has preserved. Abused, mis-used, homeless, ouster sized, and teenage mother and given upon by family and friends were just a few of the words to describe the tumult and struggles that she had undergone.
