I wrote this book because you need it. Don't get me wrong. You don't need me. However, you do need a process that goes beyond getting paid, because some of you have money. You need a process-some real, tangible, best practices-that extend further than showing you how to find a mate and have kids, because many of you have a spouse, significant other, or even a boo. You need a road map that shows you how to travel beyond success in one isolated aspect of your life, because many of you are well on your way and others have already become successful in this or that. What you need and what I've designed this book to provide is real and practical help to guide you on your journey to a place of fulfillment. Think of me as your guide on this journey. Like many of you, I've gained a measure of success in certain areas of my life. My professional career has been amazing, and I wake up every day loving the work that I do. I have been an All-American Athlete, Husband, Coach, Educator, and most importantly..., a Father. However, I realized in gaining success I'd started to ignore significant parts of my life that make me who I am. As a result, I had terrible personal relationships and a failed marriage. I spent far too much time doing things for everybody else instead of improving myself. I was successful yet fragmented and thus a mediocre man. I knew I had to create a process that would challenge me to overcome my weaknesses and push me to become a great man and not just a "successful professional." Am I great yet? Yes! By faith, it's called: faithing it. I'm committed to working every day to get there. My journey changed once I focused and my mediocrity transformed to mastery. This is the strategy that I will use to guide you through the process of becoming your personal best. This book is based on a combination of life experiences learned in the trenches and invaluable lessons taught to me from various teachers throughout my life. These lessons helped give me insight - by default and on purpose - to create a set of best practices that have guided me on my quest to achieving my personal best.
