Spirit Song Tessa McFionn

The assassin and the angel. Can her song redeem his soul?Life had never been a bed of roses for Miranda Devalande. But when her wayward younger brother gets in over his head with Chicago's notorious crime boss, Slick Sal Franchiolli, she steps in to keep his head off the chopping block. She agrees to sing at his nightclub, and with each night and each new bad bet, she believes she will never see a way out of her contract. Until a mysterious stranger steps in and turns her whole life upside down. Guardian Warrior Sebastian Lambert knew he wasn't good guy material. Trained as an assassin for hire by the Medici family in Florence during the height of the Italian Renaissance, he was bred to end lives. Yet, through a random twist of fate, he now uses his deadly skills to save humanity with a certain degree of reluctance. His focused and violent life is once again altered when his perpetually cheerful and long time companion Viktor Arnhart opens the doors to Franchiolli's and he hears the voice of an angel. As Bastian fights to deny the truth of their powerful connection, he must also battle Pieter Bekker, Rogue leader from Detroit, bent on extending his territory. To make matters more complicated, he discovers his enemy deeply entrenched inside the bar, and a scorned stalker threatens to destroy their fledgling romance. Caught between his duty to keep Miranda safe from harm and his drive to hold her close, Bastian must walk the line between the light of a beautiful songstress and the dark of his perilous past. Surrounded by powerful and possibly dangerous men, Miranda must choose to trust her dark protector even as he tries to keep her at arm's length. But will he open his heart to her, or will she fall prey to her soulless fate?
