Elephant in the Room Julianne Sisung

It's 1890 and the lumber boom transforms Hersey, a small Michigan farming town. It brings lumberjacks, money, corruption and seven saloons to the once peaceful village. Beautiful, young Kate defies convention, falls in love with a dubious lumberman and grows into womanhood. Kate also loves Harley, the philosophical hobo; Verna, a cussing, moonshine drinking woman; Bug, a red dog with attitude; and Mel, her faithful friend. Elephant in the Room is a portrait of changing relationships, family and love.
