Why I Am Still a Catholic Marti Armstrong

In my life, I have had such a marvelous sense of belonging to our Lord through the many instances mentioned in this little book. There have been many blessings, also, some disappointments. My husband Fred was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, and I believe that in his sickness and death, I, as well as others who knew and loved him, were inspired by his experience and the reality of a happy death. I believe that God is in the midst of each moment, even when it may not seem obvious to this not-always-wise human instrument. As the result of marvelous spiritual direction and discernment, I chose to become a dedicated widow a few years ago, and made a promise before the tabernacle, in the presence of a priest and a group of friends, that I would be a Bride of our Lord, that I would renounce marriage to anyone else in this life. It is difficult to explain the peace and joy that have continuously accompanied this promise. I thank God of Truth and Love for these adventures with which He has accompanied me. I thank Him, the Lord Jesus, for founding and maintaining His beloved One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church for me and for my loved ones, and for each of us, with the fullness of the Truth.
