Soren is one of many talented adventurers who have come to Avalon (a city in the skies) to participate in a series of magical tests. His father has been preparing him all his life for this opportunity. If he passes the exam, he will be accepted to the prestigious and mysterious Isirion Academy.

Soren, along with Jack, Nyla, and Vale, will be put to the test-literally. Not just gauging their magical abilities, the exams will force them to use their intelligence, street smarts, compassion, and courage to prove their mettle and earn their admission to the school.

But this isn't the only difficult challenge the four will face. Vengeful forces are gathering in Avalon with their own sinister plans for the gifted young students.
