It might have been the era of peace and love and enlightenment and flower power, but it would take only three words to hobble the mission of these well-meaning pilgrims. Menanach says hi. San Francisco is ground zero for the hippie invasion of 1966. During the year-long mass build-up to the Summer of Love, the City will experience more social change than any other locale on earth. By the time the Flower Power Generation hits its stride in 1967, the Haight Ashbury District will already be on life support. The invasion of pilgrims from all over the world taxes the neighborhoods, the health care services, the law enforcement personnel and - especially - the pilgrims themselves. Nothing will stop this community of Wandering Spirits from claiming their spot on the Rotating Mandala of History - not even the knowledge that forces beyond their control are operating the pulleys and gears of the Machinery. While the burgeoning mass of humanity is reveling in the pleasures of hallucinogenic excess, free love, music, bubbles and strobe lights, there are disciples collecting alien landing coordinates and making plans for the dawning of a new age.
