The teenage years are hard enough, but living with an abusive parent, happiness seems almost impossible. Yaz and Loni are two sisters coming of age on the mean streets of Washington, DC. Yaz is determined to go to college and become a success, but her mother is hell bent on making her a statistic. Loni, the younger sister, is looking for love. She finds it in the most unexpected place and the consequences may be more than she is ready for. Seventeen-year-old Cali is a lovable bad boy. His only concern is girls, good times, and the game. Life is good for him, and aside from his desire to eventually move out of his mother's home, he sees no reason to change a thing... until he meets Yaz.
