Rocky the Croc Janai-Ami

An unconventional crocodile searches for some friends who won't judge him by his appearance or unique sensitivities. Whoever heard of a friendly but overly sensitive blue crocodile?! Other crocodiles view him as strange, weak and different. Non crocodiles are afraid of him and won't take a chance to get to know him - at least not initially. It seems like Rocky doesn't fit in anywhere. But then he meets Nyer the giraffe, a monkey named Gizmo and the sweetest pink elephant ever- named Twinkletoes. (I bet you never heard of an elephant who is light on her feet!! ) Rocky the Croc is introduced to very young audiences and opens the door to parent/child discussions about bullying, the effect of gossip, individual differences and tolerance. Twinkletoes' one injured tusk affords the opportunity to talk about the more serious issues of caring for other creatures with whom we share the planet. Although some characters have disabilities, children naturally see past these differences and fall in love with them because they are so darned cute - learning to see beyond physical as well as non- physical differences between individuals to focus instead on the unique and wonderful traits that make each character so special.
