Life can be full of unexpected twists and turns. It is ever-changing, and we never know when a storm may throw us a major "twister" and send us on a journey to a place we never meant to go. As we parent our children, the Bible gives us a solid foundation which will keep our paths straight. If we keep on our ruby slippers, as Dorothy did in the "Wizard of Oz," we will be reminded that childhood is but a fleeting time. Our job as parents is to prepare our children for adulthood and eventually for heading to their ultimate heavenly home. With this in mind, our goals become eternal and our perspective long term. "Ruby Slippers" is a collection of newsletters to parents written by Susan Causey, School Counselor at First Presbyterian Day School, in hopes of helping them find courage, heart, and wisdom for the journey.
