In this third Amelia Leigh cozy, Amelia forms an unlikely friendship with the mother of Billy Frazier, the investigator who is convinced that Amelia killed her husband. Then a letter from the past sends Amelia to a local insurance agency with a shady history dating back to the prohibition era. When a third generation son takes over the business, fraud, murder, and sexual perversion rears its ugly head, entangling Amelia in its nefarious connections. At the same time a neighbor, with whom Amelia has had an altercation, is found shot to death in his driveway.
