THE CHRISTMAS SYRIAN KID We all know Christmas is the time for giving. On that note, a young English boy is given a new friend for Christmas, the glorious gift of friendship we must rejoice in, since it might be a gift all the way from war-torn Syria. In this case, it is a ten-year-old boy stranded in the refugee camp in Calais, who is named Sayid. Also ten, Douglas is a boy with a heart and wants what is best for his new buddy, and along with his own parents and craggy old Jasper from next door, the spirit of Christmas transforms this on 25th December and proves a turning point for everyone in the Rudd household when important visitors turn up at the door. It is a time for surprises, indeed.
