God has spoken not only with some select prophets or messengers etc, but if we have the power and the potential then we can hear God speak to us even today. The teachings of God from God where delivered to mankind via many, many and even more many humans. Some of them we know and many of those some we don't know. Based on how our intelligence, and our psychology is tamed and trained, our conscience allows us to accept only that with which our instincts and and our conscience can relate. We have accepted God in the forms that our lifestyle, our cultural society and our mannerism made us relate with. But those that our intelligence and understanding could not relate with we out rightly rejected. BUT DOES THAT MEAN THAT GOD IS NOT GOD IN THE FORMS THAT YOUR SENSES REJECTED The answer simply is a big NO. We reject God in other forms because we feel contented with having accepted that form and worshiping it. So we don't care to learn anything about God in any other form. This is why we don't realize that our understanding about God is INCOMPLETE. We forget that GOD IS INFINITE. We tend to give God an identity and worship God as some finite personality. This why we have designed SYSTEMS of devotion and worship. This is why our conscience shows us that image and deity who we have related with in our life time as GOD even in the afterlife, the Eternal Realm.
