Bound By Destiny is the story of Paro, a spunky teenager who is fiercely devoted to her family. Born into a middle class family, Paro is the eldest child. She has four younger sisters, one of whom is her identical twin, Tara. Though Tara and Paro share the same physical traits, their personalities are complete opposites. Paro is a tomboy who dresses like a boy, behaves like a boy and is daring like a boy. She is the 'son' her father never had. Tara on the other hand is a proper young lady, pampered by her parents and used to having her way. When tragedy strikes, Paro is forced to approach her father's employer, Raj Saheb for help. Sanjay is Raj Saheb's son. Besides being born into a rich upper class family, he is blessed with good looks, charm and charisma. He also has a strong sense of family values. When he meets the twins for the first time, he falls head over heels in love with Tara. When Tara finds out that Sanjay loves her, she takes advantage of her good fortune and agrees to marry him, even though she does not love him. Complications arise when Tara falls in love with Sanjay's friend. What will happen to the family honor? In a time when class systems were still prevalent and inter marriages between classes were frowned upon, Bound by Destiny gives an insight into a culture where family honor is placed above all else.
