A man is shoot by a sniper one morning while walking his dog. Fortunately, he survives, but the police, after a long investigation, can discover no one with both motive and opportunity. When the case goes cold, the family calls in a private investigator to track down the assailant. Casting a wide net, Detective Marlowe and his associate are surprised to find a number of sniper victims scattered throughout the midwest. Could their client be the victim of a serial killer?
