Carly Sullivan understood that she was different from other kids her age but it wasn't until her first Epic episode that she understood why. When the episode was over and the red misty veil lifted from her eyes, her best friend, Lainey lay in a crumpled heap, dead at the bottom of the cliffs. Most normal people would panic and grieve but sadly the only concern that this ten-year old psychopath had was who will be her new play-mate for the rest of the summer. It seems that Carly has inherited the Sullivan Family mutant gene, MOA-A. They call it The Murder Gene. Carly has it and there is no cure.
