Jewel thief Gregg Hadyn is settling into working out his prison sentence by legally stealing for a covert team of spies. That is until the Director of National Intelligence agrees to lend Gregg to the FBI for a Bureau-sanctioned infiltration.

A factory in the Florida Keys is manufacturing hobbyist quadcopters, but the Counterterrorism Division suspects the drones are an enemy country's attempt to launch an attack on the United States. When the CTD can't open a vault within the manufacturing facility, the director of the FBI requests Gregg Hadyn, infiltration expert extraordinaire, to gain access.

Unfortunately, not everyone on the mission appreciates Gregg or his skills. The CTD assistant director outwardly despises the notion of the thief working within the Intelligence Community, much less Gregg working for him. Despite the assistant director's animosity, Gregg infiltrates the vault, but, in doing so, he and the CTD are caught in an elaborate mousetrap which reveals a much bigger threat to US security than anyone imagined.
