Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, he remained on his native soil for most of his life. But at the age of fifty-four, with one failed marriage and another nearing the end of its good run, Malcolm wonders just what is left for him in England. After a brief career in the military, he had a very long stint in construction before being made redundant, and he ended up running a public house to earn his daily bread.
