Young children have a hard time understanding what is going on when a parent has bipolar disorder. This book presents scenarios that they have experienced in their lives, while reassuring the child that they are always loved - no matter what. It is not a descriptive book about the disorder. The illness itself is only presented in general terms - Daddy's brain is sick, but his heart isn't. However, as a color-therapy book, it is a simple way for a child to reflect on his or her experiences and remember the most important fact - that they are loved.
