Would you kill a homeless man for $250,000? That's the question presented to Julian Donahue in FOUR SHOTS IN THE DARK. Julian is a hitman, or at least he wants people to believe he's a hitman. He enjoys a life of luxury as a conman preying on gullible fools with the lowest of intentions. He likens himself to a tax collector, ensuring that all the scum of the earth too afraid to get their hands dirty pay their dues. Only after taking the fifty percent fee he demands up front does he blackmail the stooges in order to maintain his anonymity and ruse. When Julian is approached by the agent of an unnamed client and offered $250,000 to kill the homeless Robert Tindall, he is enthralled by the mystery presented before him. How could the life of a homeless man be worth such a sum? Surely, an addict would do it for a needle and a high. Dogged by the mystery, Julian forgoes his modus operandi and sinks his teeth into discovering why he was given the ominous task and who had uncovered his secret. Reluctantly joined by the man he was hired to kill, Julian finds himself confronting his past. A past he'd tried to bury underneath alcoholism, a parade of lovers, and extravagant indulgences.
