"Adrift" follows the journey of Carly Young Mariner, a devoted wife, mother, and second grade teacher, who walks in on an encounter that upends her ordinary life. Over time--but not out of time--she distances herself from her family and everything that has given her a sense of purpose. With the hope of finding contentment and a place to contemplate her options, Carly escapes to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Shortly after her arrival, a minor accident transforms her and those around her.
