Two unlikely partners, Detectives Chance Waters and Carlie McBayne, are about to find out. McBayne, a thrill seeking girl from Chicago who's obsessed with the band the Eagles is on a pilgrimage to Winslow, AZ because she's convinced she's the girl in the flatbed Ford.

But fate finds her patrolling the dangerous streets of Dallas where she has an old score to settle with thugs and drug dealers.

She's partnered with brilliant but eccentric detective Waters, a socially "challenged" recluse haunted by his own past trauma. Investigating an accidental death in the upscale suburb of Southlake, they suspect a cover-up by some of the city's most high-profile citizens. To prove it, they must overcome threats and intimidation from the elite, as well as their own demons.

Their diverse styles and personalities create an oddly effective and highly entertaining partnership.
