The writings in this book were first started over thirty years ago. In care from the age of seven, I first started writing as an attempt to escape from environments that I had no control over, but it also became a useful way to explore and express my own frustrations. In the beginning, everything I wrote was from a personal perspective, but as the years rolled on, the more people I met and the more stories I heard that inspired me. So I decided to write not just for myself but for all those other people too. This encouraged me to try writing from perspectives other than my own, to empathise and see things from another point of view. The issues addressed in this work are wide-ranging but all of them are original and true. Some you may find distressing, others perhaps humorous and some may be difficult to understand, but all are related to individuals and sadly some of those individuals are no longer with us. What I'm hoping that the reader will find, is the reality that I've tried to portray. Too many people go through life expressing that they care and understand one individuals situation from another, but do any of us really understand? I hope that when you have read this, that maybe you will understand a little more and spend that little bit more time to read between the lines.
