New Year's Eve and residents around the Harlequin triangle share celebrations in their communal garden. The body in the alley, found only months before with neither killer nor cause yet identified, has many of the neighbours unsettled. Further concerns grow when some friends fail to show and, as the bells ring out at midnight, dramatic events play out just across town. An unwanted pregnancy, an unhappy prognosis, an unresolved past and the joys and heartaches of love - the 'Harly' is full of secrets as the old year turns to new and those living there go forward to colour in more of their lives.
