McKinley Morningstar retires from active duty as a detective with the Washington, D. C. police department to become a private investigator in the small New England town of Falmouth, MA. The people of Falmouth are a special breed of folk that tend to mix the bitter with the sweet. Chief Maureen Boyd intrigues him being curiously funny as she introduces him to a game of hard poker that slowly involves into a sinister web of lust, robbery, extortion and finally murder.
